Client Background:

Green Mountain Grills was founded on a love for wood pellet grilling. Green Mountain Pellet Grills are now the top of the line, the best of the best, but are not the highest in price! They offer the highest quality grills, dry rubs, sauces, and pellets, so customers can enjoy the best possible grilling experience without breaking the bank. We take pride in our local brick and mortar retailers because they help keep Green Mountain grills and accessories accessible and affordable. With thousands of locations across the US, there’s no reason you shouldn’t go see one of our grills in person today!

The Problem:

Green Mountain Grills wanted to showcase a variety of grilling experts cooking their favorite recipes on wood pellet grills. Their video shoot budget was fairly lean, however, they had aspirations for creating a large amount of content.

They were looking for a lean production that allowed for creating 2 minute videos for 8 different recipes in a single day of shooting. They wanted to turn this content into content optimized for social, optimized for advertising creatives and optimized for Youtube. This meant grabbing short form vertical videos, longer form horizontal videos and imagery. In order to get all of the content created we had to be creative in our approach to the video shoot budget.

Pain Points:

  1. Need social media content
  2. Need advertising creatives
  3. Need to showcase grill masters’ wood pellet recipes

The Solution

With a lean video shoot budget we had to get creative in our plan of execution. We helped to coordinate location and shoot schedule for a full day video shoot. We decided to run the shoot with 2 camera operators and an audio engineer. One camera operator focused on long form and horizontal content while the other camera operator focused on vertical video, B-Roll and imagery.

Using Lav microphones we were able to grab quality audio with the grill and food cooking.

Action items we completed to solve pain points and complete scope of work

  1. Capture audio and long form horizontal video for each Grill Master’s recipe
  2. Capture vertical video for social media
  3. Capture advertising creatives
  4. Capture product imagery
  5. Create Youtube Thumbnails

The Results

In an 8 hour shoot we were able to create 8 90 second videos, 8 short form vertical social media preview videos, and 10+ images of specific products for advertising creatives and Youtube thumbnails.

The recipe videos drove, on average, over 1,000 views on Youtube. The images were repurposed for website content and advertising creatives, and the social media short form videos were successful in driving swipe up traffic and helping to increase total followers on Instagram as well as subscribers on Youtube.
